Download Festival iKyp lights the way for festival goers

After years of stumbling around in the dark trying to find your tent finally a solution has been found. Complete with torch, radio, map and lanyard, the iKyp is revitalising the festival experience, not just for fans, but for marketers.

The interactive, paper-based iKyp has been produced as an all encompassing, pocket-sized programme for the Download Festival; a three day rock music event which took place at Donnington Park from 13-15th June.

Sold at £10 a piece, the iKyp Download Festival programme incorporates a venue map, gig listings, partner discounts and advertising into a compact carrier alongside a torch, radio and lanyard.

Recognising the potential of using the iKyp as an innovative alternative to the traditional festival guide, Anthill Trading – the global merchandising company – commissioned the production of over 15,000 iKyps for the Download Festival.

Steve Hatton of Anthill Trading said: “It was refreshing to have a new product out there, as opposed to the standard programme that every festival has. The kids and the fans absolutely loved it and it sold out”

Nicholas Miller, CEO of Kyp Systems commented: “We wanted to create an engaging and useful festival program that offered Download fans much more value than the traditional print alternative. The versatility of the iKyp enabled us to get creative and produce a high-spec yet cost-effective guide incorporating festival essentials such as torches and radios. The resulting product was a winner for everybody, offering great value for festival goers and creating a sell out merchandise piece for Anthill Trading.”
